mornings

mornings
taking solace in a cup of tea

I take solace in my morning routine.
It is the one thing that keeps me grounded throughout the day.
Over the past two weeks I've kept my mornings simple and sweet
and
it has made me so much happier throughout the day.
Breakfast includes a piece of slightly burnt toast with homemade strawberry jam
followed by a smoothie that I take to go.
One of my best friends shared this smoothie recipe with me
and in the past week I have enjoyed it every morning.
Emily's Smoothie
ingredients
a pinch or two of cinnamon
a teaspoon of honey
vanilla almond milk sweetened
4 cubes of ice
nonfat greek yogurt (fage is my favorite)
1 banana

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend to a smooth consistency.
Enjoy!

This smoothie keeps me full for hours and is so refreshing.
And,
last but not least,
each morning I take a satchel of my favorite tea with me to campus,
order a cup of hot water and enjoy a piping hot cup of tea.
My personal favorite is Harney & Sons Paris Tea.
The tea is warm, creamy, and perfect on its own ... no sugar needed.
And, I am partial to the name.
Enjoy your weekend and make sure to take solace in your mornings.
Bisous.
